This is the one pick, CeeDee Lamb from Oklahoma, that is the guy the Arizona Cardinals, especially quarterback Kyler Murray, could and should insist they pull the trigger on. Lamb is the receiver likely to go first off of the draft board, and, unless positions change in the draft order, could be available at No. 8.

First, he has good size for a wide receiver. The former Sooner is 6’-2” and weighs in at 198 lbs. His NFL Combine numbers are also solid, having posted a 4.5, 40-yard dash and had a vertical jump of 34.5. In 2019, he would lead the Sooners with 62 receptions, for 1,327 yards, and 14 touchdowns.

Second, make no bones about it-Murray would love to have Lamb, and Lamb, to his credit, has been honest about how he would feel being in Arizona. What makes this most interesting, is that Lamb is seen as the first receiver likely to be drafted. If he’s available at the point where the Cardinals select, how do they leave the most talented pass-catcher, capable of being a game-changer from Day One, on the board for someone else to select?

The Arizona Cardinals can change the narrative in the NFC West beginning on April 23. Drafting Lamb, Ruggs III, or Jeudy does just that.
