Arizona Cardinals: Grading the 2020 NFL Draft
By Scott Allen
Rashard Lawrence, DT, LSU
Lawrence was one of 14 LSU players taken in the draft this weekend. However he is the one that is likely the best fit for what the Cardinals are trying to do.
The only issue here was the selection left Cardinals fans scratching their heads a bit as to why they selected a second defensive tackle in the same round? The idea that the Cardinals took not only another defensive tackle but one that was actually rated higher than Fotu by some was midn puzzling at first.
If you look at his 2018 numbers, they were better. He stayed in school one more year to try to better his possible draft position.
It can be argued he wasn’t able to do that but he did meet or beat some projections. Some had him going as late as the fifth round however some also had him going as early as the third.
Still, Lawrence is said to be a good fit for the Cardinals defensive scheme. So another solid pick for Keim.
Grade: A-
