The full 2020 Arizona Cardinals schedule is due out by the end of the week

On Saturday, predictions on the 2020 Arizona Cardinals schedule was made here.  The NFL schedule is expected to be out by this upcoming Saturday May 9th.

The schedule had been delayed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.  Now on Sunday comes word the NFL is likely to cancel all of it’s international games this upcoming season.

One of those games was to involve the Cardinals.  They were scheduled to host a home game in Mexico City.  The opponent had not been announced yet but there was speculation the opponent would likely be the San Francisco 49ers.

Not only does it cancel the Mexico City game but also the games scheduled to take place in London this season as well.  The move does not come as much shock.

We’ve questioned since the outbreak if these games would actually take place outside the country.  Now, it appears they are all headed back stateside and all 32 teams will be scheduled to have their full slate of home games in their own stadiums, however that will look.

This is the right decision to make.  There are just still so many unknowns in regard to the virus.  At this point, even though the schedule is due to come out this week, it won’t guarantee they will happen or if they actually do happen, will there be fans present?

Since we can’t even answer those questions at this point, how can one have a true expectation of any of these games happening in Mexico City or London?  The Cardinals were given the home game in Mexico City as part of the agreement that came with hosting a Super Bowl at State Farm Stadium in 2023.

So, don’t expect the NFL to backout of the game completely, at least not yet.  We should expect the Cardinals to be asked again in 2021 to host one of their home games in Mexico City.  That is of course, if conditions at the time are acceptable to do so.
