2013 Arizona Cardinals

Coming into a new ear with head coach Bruce Arians and a stop gap quarterback in Carson Palmer. There was hope after a dismal 2012 season.

That team finished 10-6, just missing the playoffs by one game.  It took the Cardinals about six or seven weeks to understand Arians’ offense.

They struggled early on and Palmer threw a lot of his interceptions over those first several weeks.  Then it all started to gel.

The Cardinals went 7-2 over their last nine games.  Looking at this year’s schedule for the Cardinals and the type of team they are building, it is easy to envision a 2020 season much like this 2013 version of the team.

The next year is when the Cardinals made the playoffs.  They went 11-5, but Palmer, who was restricted due to injury, went 6-0 in his starts.  Then we all know what happened in 2015.

If the same path is followed, the Cardinals could find themselves with the seventh seed in the playoffs or just out in 2020, then in the playoffs 2021 and beyond. Anything is possible though.
