Everyone knows it sometimes takes a while for rookies to get used to the game. Sure, most have been playing football their entire lives but the NFL is a different caliber of competition. Every year, fanbases around the league believe wholeheartedly in their new group of rookies.

The Arizona Cardinals received 12 rookies through the NFL draft and supplemental draft. The No. 1 overall selection, Kyler Murray, is universally regarded as the young franchise quarterback fans have spent years yearning for.

Cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. was thrown to the wolves his rookie year after a broken leg took out Robert Alford and suspension held Patrick Peterson out until Week 7. Under difficult circumstances Murphy performed well and should have an even better year going back to the slot where he is most comfortable.

Murray and Murphy immediately impacted the Arizona Cardinals in their rookie seasons. Some of these other players heading into their second year with the Cardinals are still waiting for their big breakout.
