The Arizona Cardinals have until this Saturday to reduce the roster to 53 players
It’s that time. Training camp is coming to an end and the final preparations are in process for the Arizona Cardinals 2020 regular season.
The Cardinals open the season on the road on September 13th at the San Francisco 49ers. They will be playing in front of no fans just as they will for the following two weeks at least at home.
Now however is roster projection time. The Cardinals, as like the other 31 teams, will need to reduce rosters by Saturday to the 53-man regular season limit.
One of the biggest changes this year however will be on the practice squad. In years past the limit has been 10 players. This year, in response to the possibility more may be out in relation to COVID-19, the practice squads have been expanded to 16 players.
The Cardinals still have work to do to get to the 53 man limit and as usual will have to make some difficult decisions. Here is how it could play out.
