Cutting sixth rounder Evan Weaver

We didn’t hear much one way or the other on Weaver during camp.  Some Cardinals fans weren’t too high on him when the selection was made but experts thought it was a solid pick for a team that has struggled with its linebacker depth over the last few years.

Still, Weaver found himself on the cut list on Saturday.  Weaver could also find himself returning though real soon as a member of the practice squad.  We will see what Sunday brings.

The Cardinals are carrying 10 linebackers on the roster.  That includes Kylie Fitts, Ezekiel Turner, and Tanner Vallejo, all guys predicted to be on the bubble.  Our projection had Weaver making the final 53.

It’s never fun to see draft picks from the current year not make their initial roster.  If Weaver does come back onto the practice squad he will have work to do in order to make it onto the 53-man roster.
