The Arizona Cardinals suffered their first loss of the season despite DeAndre Hopkins getting the game ball for his performance.

Hopkins finished the game with another 100+ yard performance. He ended up with 10 receptions for 137 yards, with his longest run being 30 yards.

Despite Kyler Murray’s inconsistencies throughout the game – three interceptions and three total touchdowns – the one player who was consistent throughout the game was Hopkins. No other receiver was able to contribute besides him, and it ended up costing the Cardinals when no one else could get going.

Hopkins also continued his streak of 21 consecutive games with five or more catches. At one point in the second half, he had five catches for four first downs. He now leads all receivers with the most first downs this season.

Andy Isabella is the runner-up from Sunday’s loss. If Hopkins was not on the team, Isabella would have received the game ball for his performance against the Lions. He finished the game with a career-high four receptions for 47 yards and two touchdowns. His biggest performance was on the second drive of the game, where he caught three passes and finished it off with a touchdown.

On the defensive side, no one stood out enough to receive the game ball. Too many penalties and bad decisions from the entire team is the reason for it.

The only two players who had played above average in Sunday’s loss were safety Deionte Thompson, and linebacker Haason Reddick. Thompson had two big tackles for a loss, while Reddick had a big third down sack that resulted in a field goal for Detroit.

Thompson replaced an injured Chris Banjo heading in to the second quarter. Despite being picked on throughout the game, Thompson still managed to hold his own. With safety Budda Baker out with a UCL tear in his thumb going into their game against the Panthers next week, Thompson will more than likely be the starter in his place.

Arizona travels to Carolina next week as part of a three-game road trip that will see them face the Jets and Cowboys as well.
