Several Arizona Cardinals are having Pro Bowl-type seasons

Several Arizona Cardinals are turning in the type of performances that could earn them invitations to this year’s Pro Bowl
It’s been an outstanding 2020 campaign thus far for the Arizona Cardinals. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury‘s squad has won five of their seven games thus far, and are coming off of a sensational victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Behind the franchise’s excellent start are some outstanding individual performances from several of Arizona’s best players.
Leading the way for the surging Cardinals is Kyler Murray, the team’s exciting young quarterback. Last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year has been everything the organization could’ve hoped for and more. Through seven contests, Murray is putting up the type of numbers that could lead to the first Pro Bowl invitation of his pro career.
Murray has completed 66.8% of his throws for 1,847 yards and 13 touchdowns through the air. To go along with those impressive passing statistics are 437 rushing yards and seven additional scores on the ground. Murray is the type of dual-threat signal-caller that can cause sleepless nights for defensive coordinators around the league.
This past March, the Cards acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in a trade that stunned the world of professional football. The four-time Pro Bowler is well on his way to an invitation to his fifth appearance in the NFL’s annual all-star game. Hopkins has hauled in 57 passes for 704 yards and three touchdowns, and Arizona couldn’t be happier.
The Cardinals have a defensive player that’s worthy of Pro Bowl consideration as well. Budda Baker has racked up 59 tackles, two interceptions and two sacks in just six games this season. Another Pro Bowl nomination at the conclusion of the 2020 schedule would be the third in four years for the 24-year old safety.
After seven weeks, Kenyan Drake leads the NFC in rushing. The second-year Card has totaled 512 yards and four scores on the ground for the Redbirds. Unfortunately, Drake suffered an ankle injury last Sunday night against Seattle that could put his Pro Bowl aspirations in jeopardy.
Due to COVID-19, this season’s game (scheduled for Paradise, Nevada) has been canceled. Even so, the voting will go on as usual. When all is said and done, Arizona should be well-represented in a Pro Bowl that will not take place.
