The Arizona Cardinals proved to the Red Sea and the NFL Universe they are still a team in transition following an 8-8 season.

And for much of the season, fans and experts alike stated the importance of Kyler Murray‘s play as a pivotal reason for the team’s successful 5-2 and 6-3 runs that ultimately left them out of the playoffs. When Murray was banged up, the Arizona Cardinals tanked, finishing the season at 2-5 and out of the playoffs.

It shows how far away the Cardinals are from being a successful NFL franchise. The clear upside is that they proved with a healthy Murray they can hang with some of the NFL’s best like the Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills. But they also lost a lot of games they should have won, including the final two to close out the season.

It’s clear the Cardinals feature a lot of holes on their roster. And now, we get to look forward to free agency and the NFL Draft for the team to fill those patchwork gaps. So today, we will look at three major positions of need for the Cardinals and how they will impact the team moving forward.
