Out of nowhere, the backup position for the Arizona Cardinals has become a hot topic of discussion for fans of the team.

The decision to start Chris Streveler over the healthy-scratched Brett Hundley will be remembered for a long time. “What ifs”, and “Shoulda, woulda, coulda’s” will be debated about for years to come. If there anything that is certain, the team will most likely look to replace one, if not both spots behind Kyler Murray. The Arizona Cardinals backup quarterbacks definitely need an overhaul.

What the team should be looking for someone who can not only learn the offense, but also be able to command the field and make plays. With this offseason looking more realistic than the last, there should be a better chance at grasping the playbook and getting the chance to play some preseason games.

Of course this is the complete opposite of what Streveler had, so he potentially could get another chance. That discussion can be tabled for the moment. Of course the team is looking at the who is available, and there are a few good options to take the job and be Arizona Cardinals backup quarterbacks.

These are players who’ve had at least a good amount of experience in the NFL and would be a solid upgrade over the current quarterbacks on the roster. Murray’s ankle/ hamstring will always be watched going forward.
