Arizona Cardinals must consider drafting one of the following prospects
By Sion Fawkes
The Arizona Cardinals currently have the 16th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
But you can expect the Arizona Cardinals to perhaps land another blue-chip prospect in the first round if they like a prospect enough to trade up for them. An impact player, perhaps in the top ten. A player who can provide an immediate upgrade at a position of need.
Sure, the Cardinals can sit at pick 16 and wait for the best prospect at a position of need to fall to them. Or, they can pull off a bold move and trade into the top ten if they are set on taking a player who can start from day one. Or at least rotate in and out.
In 2020, the Cardinals landed one of the most talented defensive players in Isaiah Simmons. And while Simmons didn’t start or contribute right away, he came on strong as the season progressed. But Simmons played a natural position on a unit that already had two solid starters. Chances were, Simmons wasn’t going to see a lot of playing time early.
For the purposes of today’s post, we will discuss three top prospects the Cardinals can grab in the first round with the expectation that they start from day one. In other words, prospects who fall into the category of “position of need.”
Realistically speaking, the Cardinals can only grab one of the following three. And all three prospects would most likely involve the team trading up to take them.
Who should the Cardinals consider trading up for and spending their first round pick on? Keep reading to find out.
