Caleb Farley is the target to move up for in my Latest Arizona Cardinals mock draft

If the team moves up, Caleb Farley is the first player in my Latest Arizona Cardinals mock draft. Farley is seen as one of the crown jewels in the draft outside of Trevor Lawrence and DeVonta Smith. Farley is the ideal outside corner, and excels in man coverage. With how much defensive coordinator Vance Joseph liked the blitz last year, Farley could reliably hold down a 1v1 situation.

This would be a great thing to have as Joseph got unique with his pressures and the entire secondary struggled last year keeping up. Both Patrick Peterson and Dre Kirkpatrick allowed a combined 1200+ receiving yards, which broke down to about 12 yards/completion between the two of them. Farley doesn’t have any pro day/combine measurements yet, as Virginia Tech has theirs on March 26th. Farley won’t be participating however. During this writing, the news broke from Adam Schefter that Farley is getting a procedure done that will sideline him for a bit.

Some areas that are in need of improvement for Farley are his tackling and zone coverage skills. The Cardinals were 21st in rushing yards allowed last year, and especially down the final five games, the defensive run game killed their playoff chances. Hopefully that changes with the defensive line overhaul taking place, but it still holds true for Farley.

Another interesting tidbit is that he played quarterback in high school, so maybe he could get some wildcat-ish reps on the offensive side of the ball.
