For the Arizona Cardinals, there are a few players who are hanging on by a thread.

As the adage goes, the NFL stands for “not for long”. The Arizona Cardinals are in a very urgent and special season where they have, dare I say it, an earlier Super Bowl window than expected.

Cardinals general manager Steve Keim raided and pillaged the Houston Texans for their two franchise players in what has been some of the most unbelievable free-agent moves to date.

However, with as good as the additions of DeAndre Hopkins and J.J. Watt have been, there are other roster moves that have been underwhelming or just simply guys on one-year “prove it” deals. These players, regardless of contribution to the team (or none thereof) are heading into what could be their final season with Arizona.

These five players will be ranked in terms of risk of being cut or not re-signed after the 2021 season, from least likely to most likely. But even for those who occupy the fifth and fourth spots, it doesn’t mean they’re out of the woods just yet.

The player at No. 5 is a guy on the Cardinals roster who doesn’t get a lot of attention.
