Robert Alford – CB

Ah yes, the Cardinals cover man, Robert Alford, has the best chance of not returning to the team in 2022. Heck, he was already cut, but then was re-signed in a move that made zero sense.

To quote Cris Collinsworth, “here’s a guy” that suffered two separate, very unfortunate, season-ending injuries and he hasn’t gotten a chance to really show that he can still play.

A member of the Atlanta Falcons’ Super Bowl LI team, Alford had a pick-six on Tom Brady right before halftime and then we all know what happened. Fast forward to 2018 and that was the last season he played meaningful football. I wrote about his struggles and his advanced stats here.

That was an article if Julio Jones came to the NFC West, but he didn’t. However, Alford is much of a liability that Ryan Gosling was in the movie Remember the Titans.

We wish him well, but he’s fighting an uphill battle that I don’t think he’s going to win.
