3 Cardinals on the rise following preseason win over Cowboys

Eno Benjamin – RB
Eno Benjamin’s performance put him into the conversation that perhaps the Cardinals will benefit from more than a dynamic duo at running back this season.
With Chase Edmonds entrenched as the RB1 and James Conner the projected RB2, Benjamin’s performance allowed him to gain the edge in the competition for the RB3 role. And perhaps more, if he keeps this up.
Benjamin carried the ball five times for 50 yards for a whopping 10.0 yards per carry in Friday’s win. He also broke a 38-yard run and recorded a rushing touchdown.
Benjamin easily outperformed the others on Arizona’s roster competing against him for the RB3 spot. The newly acquired Ito Smith ran for just six yards on two carries while Tavien Feaster recorded 10 yards on three carries. Only Jonathan Ward came close to Benjamin’s total, rushing for 21 yards on six carries.
No, Benjamin’s performance did not win him the RB3 job and there is still a long way to go before the dust settles. But currently, the odds are in his favor. And if he continues to play like this, he could even cut into Edmonds’ and Conner’s workload when the games start to count.
