Arizona’s advantage in the takeaway ratio

This is a rather obscure statistic, but after digging through Pro-Football-Reference.com, it shows the Cardinals have a major advantage over the Browns in the turnover department. Overall, the Browns have struggled in the turnover game, with just four takeaways all season, which ranks among the lowest in the league, and tied with several teams.

But this is the statistic that separates the Browns from others with so few takeaways: their drives ending in an offensive turnover percentage, which is just 5.7 percent. The teams below them? The Jaguars, the 49ers, and the Raiders. The Cardinals beat two of those teams, and they also beat the Titans and Vikings, who also rank in the bottom 10 in the drives ending in an offensive turnover department.

Shifting gears, the Cardinals rank third in the same category, at an astounding 18.5 percent. That said, the Cardinals create turnovers nearly four times as often as the Browns. They also have logged 10 takeaways, tied for third in the league with the New Orleans Saints. A number that more than doubles the number of takeaways that the Browns have managed.

Turnover battles can often dictate who wins and who loses. And the Cardinals are far and away ahead of the Browns.
