3 Bold Predictions: Arizona Cardinals vs. Green Bay Packers – Week 8
By Sion Fawkes
The undefeated Arizona Cardinals head into a Thursday nighter with the Green Bay Packers.
Once again, the Arizona Cardinals looked flat against a weak opponent in their Week 7 win over the Houston Texans. Sure, they won the game 31-5, but they made things interesting for a quarter. The Cardinals will need to play brilliant football against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, as they did earlier this season against the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams from the kickoff onward.
And Arizona can pull this off, given the weakness in the Packers’ rushing defense. Green Bay has struggled to stop the run as of late, ranking 24th in rushing defense, and allowing 4.9 yards per rushing attempt, the third-worst in the league.
The Cardinals have also stepped up big on defense in 2021, proving to pundits that more than just the offense has kept them in games. Over the past three weeks, Arizona has allowed a total of just 29 points.
However, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers can still work wonders when they need to, and against the Cardinals, opposing offenses have no choice but to keep up.
Both offenses have the potential to be explosive, and in the past, the two teams have threatened to combine for 100 points. This duel in the desert could be yet another shootout.
