3 Bold Predictions: Arizona Cardinals vs. Green Bay Packers – Week 8
By Sion Fawkes
Cardinals ward off a last-second effort
The Cardinals and Packers have had some memorable games at State Farm Stadium, and the latest addition will see two of the league’s better quarterbacks going at it. And while Green Bay will probably be without wide receiver Davante Adams, it doesn’t mean Aaron Rodgers won’t hurt Arizona in other ways.
Including a potential late-game heroic comeback, which we have come to know Rodgers for. The Cardinals will ward this one off in an offense shootout reminiscent of the Week 7 thriller in 2020 when they defeated the Seattle Seahawks in overtime.
Look for Rodgers to get his hands on the ball late, making quick work of Arizona’s defense while he drives the Packers toward field goal range. Before Green Bay’s Mason Crosby has a chance to kick the game-winner, Cardinals linebacker Zaven Collins steps up and records his first career interception.
This gives Kyler Murray and the Arizona offense a short field for kicker Matt Prater to boom a 53-yard field goal through the uprights.
Rodgers has worked his magic often throughout his NFL career. But he will fall just short of doing so in this outing.
