Kyler Murray vs. LA’s pass rush
Against Chicago, Kyler Murray showed off his finesse and ability to make things happen with his legs. And while the Rams boast a pass rush starting with Von Miller and Aaron Donald, Murray is one of few quarterbacks with the ability to make even the game’s greatest miss.
Following his return from a sprained left ankle, Murray proved he did not miss a step. And that bodes well for the Cardinals as they face a pass rush that has logged 32 sacks, tied for fourth in the league.
Despite their gaudy sack numbers, the Rams rank among the league’s worst teams in pressure percentage at just 22.4 percent. They’re also 29th in knockdown percentage at 5.9 percent, and they rank in the middle of the road in hurry percentage at 10.7 percent.
All of which will play into Murray’s hands on Monday night. Look for the Rams to bring early pressure and try to force Murray to throw before he’s ready. But considering their meager numbers in most pass rush categories, Murray holds the advantage.
