The Arizona Cardinals will have to acquire another capable backup for quarterback Kyler Murray if Colt McCoy decides to leave.
When the Arizona Cardinals drafted Kyler Murray back in 2019, the No. 1 overall pick was the only worthwhile quarterback on the roster. As a result, the young signal-caller didn’t have an experienced passer to lean on when the NFL got tough.
That changed last season when Cards general manager Steve Keim convinced veteran Colt McCoy to come to the desert. The 35-year-old acquisition turned out to be an excellent mentor for Murray, and he also won two games for the squad over a three-week period in November.
Unfortunately, McCoy was inked to just a one-year deal, and there’s no guarantee he’ll be back with Arizona in 2022. The following are four potential free-agent passers who the Cardinals can pursue if McCoy elects to go elsewhere this offseason.
