5 potential replacements for Cardinals LB Chandler Jones in 2022
By Adam Patrick
Von Miller
- Age:
- 32-years-old
- 2021 Stats (with Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams):
- 15 games
- 50 tackles (19 for a loss)
- 30 pressures, 17 QB hits, 9.5 sacks
- 1 forced fumble
Sure, Von Miller is someone who is nearing the end of his career in the NFL. But with the Rams and Broncos in 2021, he was still able to perform at an above-average level.
To some, however, signing Miller might be viewed as a bit of a lateral move for the Cardinals if they’re going to move on from Chandler Jones. Both are around a similar age and both likely aren’t going to be looking to take any sort of team-friendly deals in free agency this year.
Haason Reddick
- Age:
- 27-years-old
- 2021 Stats (with Carolina Panthers):
- 16 games
- 68 tackles (12 for a loss)
- 33 pressures, 18 QB hits, 11 sacks
- 2 forced fumbles
Last offseason, Haason Reddick decided to take his talents to the Panthers after spending his first four years in the NFL in Arizona.
Would Reddick and the Cardinals be open to a reunion this offseason? The best single-season performance of his pro career did come in an Arizona uniform in 2020 with Vance Joseph as his defensive coordinator.
Joseph is still in charge of the Cardinals’ defense, so perhaps Reddick would be open to a return to the desert if he doesn’t end up landing a lucrative contract in free agency this year.
