Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer was recently asked about Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and when the young signal-caller might get a big contract.

Ever since the 2021 season came to a close, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has been in the headlines in an effort to get himself a new contract before the start of the 2022 campaign.

It started with a passive-aggressive action of wiping his Instagram account free of Cardinals-related content. Then after Arizona did their best to express their commitment to Murray, the quarterback’s agent released an incredibly odd statement on behalf of his client.

Nothing has really come from the last few weeks other than everyone knowing that Murray wants to get paid before next season. With no desire to trade him in the near future, will the Cardinals give in to the quarterback’s requests and make him richer before they get back on the field in 2022?

Prediction has Kyler Murray getting paid by the Arizona Cardinals this summer

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer was recently asked if he believes Murray will get paid by Arizona or not this year. Below is the answer that Breer gave to this question.

"“I think he probably will get paid. My sense is the Cardinals want to put it off until the summer, and I also understand why Murray and his camp can’t just take a promise like that at face value.I expect Murray’s camp to keep the heat on the Cardinals between now and mid-April, and my guess would be Arizona will move off its spot at least a little, and progress will be made between now and then to ward off things really going off the rails. If that happens, then I think it will eventually get done, because that’s how these things work.”"

Basically, it sounds like Breer thinks Murray and his agent are going to continue to hold a possible trade request over the Cardinals’ head until the quarterback loses a bit of leverage after the upcoming NFL Draft.

Whatever Murray and his agent possibly have planned for the next few weeks, if anything, hopefully it doesn’t completely damage the quarterback’s relationship with Arizona.

He’s probably going to get paid before next season, so creating more of a fuss during the next few weeks would likely just do more damage than good.

The Cardinals would also be wise to pay Murray before the 2022 campaign because his price tag is only going to get higher as other quarterbacks continue to get large contract extensions.
