4 former Cardinals stars who are still searching for employment

David Johnson – RB
2021 Team– Houston Texans
David Johnson crashed onto the scene back in 2015 as a rookie running back with Arizona. Keim got tremendous value out of the Northern Iowa University product, who wasn’t taken off of the draft board until the third round.
A year later, in 2016, Johnson totaled over 2,100 yards from scrimmage and was credited with 20 total touchdowns during his sophomore campaign with “Big Red”. The 6-foot-1, 224-pounder’s production gradually declined following that sensational performance, and Johnson was ultimately traded to the Texans in the deal that brought DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals in March of 2020.
At just 30 years of age, Johnson’s days as an NFL ball carrier appear to be numbered. A one-year contract for the veteran minimum could be the best that the Memphis native can hope for in 2022.
