Grading the Arizona Cardinals 2019 NFL Draft class
By Sion Fawkes
Second Round (Pick No. 62)
Andy Isabella – WR (Massachusetts)
Andy Isabella impressed draft scouts with his blazing speed. And at 5-foot-9 and 188 pounds, the smallish Isabella would be a perfect slot receiver for Kyler Murray.
Fast-forward to 2021, and the UMass product has just 31 career receptions, 426 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns. Mainly, the Cardinals have relegated the second-round pick to special teams, and he’s provided hardly any value other than the occasional splash performance.
However, Isabella, when targeted, has actually been pretty productive. He’s caught 63.3 percent of his targets and 13.7 yards per reception. Sure, it’s a small sample size, but it shows that Isabella isn’t an all-out bust. He’s just never had a chance to really showcase himself.
Grade: C –
It’s so hard to give Isabella a failing grade. Yeah, he checked all the boxes for the Bust Label. But at the same time, it’s not like he hasn’t produced when given a chance, hence his splash performances.
