The Arizona Cardinals might not have to deal with San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel twice per season anymore.

When it comes to wide receivers the Arizona Cardinals have to worry about in the NFC West, Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers is definitely near the top of that list.

However, Samuel could be on his way out of San Francisco as the young pass-catcher has reportedly requested the 49ers to trade him this offseason according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington on Wednesday.

In two games against the Cardinals last season, Samuel was held to a total of just eight catches for 121 yards. Despite Arizona being able to hold him in check last year, they would still be ecstatic if they no longer had to face him twice per season anymore.

San Francisco 49ers trading Deebo Samuel to Arizona Cardinals is highly unlikely

While he would make the Cardinals‘ offense extremely dangerous in 2022, there is almost no chance that the 49ers would be willing to trade Samuel to Arizona, regardless of how much the Cardinals are willing to offer for the receiver.

San Francisco is not about to trade one of the NFL’s most talented wide receivers to one of their NFC West rivals. So to anyone who is hoping Samuel finds his way to Arizona this year, it might be a good idea to not get your hopes up.

So if the 49ers are actually willing to trade Samuel, where might he end up? NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport listed the New York Jets, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions as “teams to consider” for the San Francisco pass-catcher.

Wherever he lands, it’s not going to be to a team in the NFC West, which will be great news for the Cardinals moving forward as they attempt to win their division next season for the first time since 2015.
