4 realistic Cardinals scenarios for the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft
By Jim Koch
Treylon Burks – WR (Arkansas)
The Cards suffered a somewhat significant loss at the wide receiver spot last month when Christian Kirk inked a free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Replacing the 25-year-old speedster with another young pass-catcher would make all the sense in the world.
With that in mind, there’s a fantastic wideout who attended the University of Arkansas who could still be around when Arizona makes its opening-round choice. Treylon Burks, a 6-foot-3, 225-pounder, was voted First-team All-SEC for his performance last fall.
The physically-gifted Burks hauled in 66 passes for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns in the 12 matchups he appeared in for the Razorbacks. Adding the 22-year-old to a receiving corps that already includes DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green, and Rondale Moore would have to be looked at as a triumph for the Cardinals’ war room.
