George Karlaftis – DE (Purdue)

It was anything but a surprise when Arizona lost edge-rusher Chandler Jones last month. The four-time Pro Bowler was lured away by the Las Vegas Raiders, and the onus is now on Keim to find a replacement for the 32-year-old.

One pass-rusher that the Cards have been consistently linked with is George Karlaftis, the Purdue University product who visited the team this past week. Losing Jones certainly hurt, but there are many who feel that the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder could lessen the defense’s pain.

Karlaftis appeared in 26 matchups during his three years at Purdue, tallying 97 tackles (29 for a loss), 14 sacks, and six pass breakups for the Boilermakers. It’s imperative that the Cardinals acquire an individual who can get to the quarterback, and Karlaftis could very well be the best option remaining.
