Arizona Cardinals fans got the best news possible on Wednesday with Kyler Murray’s return.

The Cardinals’ top signal-caller and franchise quarterback is officially back in the building. Adam Schefter tweeted that Murray is expected to participate in the first session of organized team activities this offseason.

This is a great and sudden change, as it looked like Murray was headed straight for a holdout. Not many thought Murray would change his mind and report to the Cardinals’ facility, but crazier things have happened.

Of course, the question that’s being asked is, “Does this mean Murray’s contract extension is coming sooner rather than later?”.

That’s a bit too far to forecast now, but deducing from other players’ contract negotiations in the past will show us that this is an excellent first step.

Kyler Murray is finally back with the Arizona Cardinals for OTAs

For Murray, this is a great way to win over those who were imploring him to show up to OTAs. Especially after the team reduced OTAs in 2021, this is what Cardinals fans needed.

While contract negotiations are still going on, it looks a lot better when the Cardinals’ most important player is in the building.

Hopefully, this is the start of Murray changing how he is perceived by those in and around the football world. Murray has been criticized for not stepping up enough and being a leader.

Showing up to the team facility is precisely what Murray needed to do, and it’s what the Cardinals needed as well. A win-win for both sides; let’s hope the rest of the negotiations go smoothly.

We’re getting closer and closer to finally being able to focus on the upcoming season and not financials.
