Arizona Cardinals players that have the most to gain during Hopkins’ suspension
Marquise Brown undoubtedly could be the Arizona Cardinals’ future WR1
Traded to the Cardinals during the offseason, Brown reunites with his former college teammate Murray as they should be entertaining to watch just as they were at the University of Oklahoma.
Brown was one of Lamar Jackson’s favorite targets in Baltimore, and I’m sure he will become one of Murray’s favorite targets, especially in the absence of Hopkins.
Brown was a 1,000-yard receiver on a run-first team in Baltimore, and now that he is a member of the Cardinals playing in Kingsbury’s Air Raid offense, a breakout season is bound to happen.
This reunion could also bode well for Murray’s confidence in having a familiar face in the huddle and on the field with him.
I believe that Brown has untapped potential that we didn’t get to see when he was with the Ravens due to his underutilization.
His best position could be lined up in the slot where he could use his dynamic speed but struggle to get off the line against physical defensive backs. Brown also needs to improve on getting separation in man coverage.
A flaw Brown must also improve is the dropped passes, as he was tied for 6th in the NFL in that category.
Brown can be very explosive in Kingsbury’s system and put up some big numbers, but he has to be consistent with his production.
