Looking back at the Arizona Cardinals Hall of Fame Game appearances
Arizona Cardinals’ bad luck in HOF games continues with loss to New Orleans Saints
After a 26-year hiatus, the Arizona Cardinals made their first true appearance in the Hall of Fame game. It made sense why they had such a large gap between appearances, as the Cardinals were abysmal from 1986 until 1998 and 2007 (or 2008, you make the pick).
The Cardinals fell behind the New Orleans Saints early by a score of 17-0, and the Cardinals would never overcome the deficit, losing by a final score of 17-10.
2012 would be a dark year for the Cardinals. After finishing 8-8 in 2011, the team bottomed out with a 4-12 record that included one of the most miserable games in franchise history. That was the infamous 58-0 blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks on the road, and the game that Steve Keim vowed to “Never happen again”.
The Cardinals are 1-2-1 in their HOF games so far.
