Carson Taylor would be worth the practice squad investment for the Arizona Cardinals

The last time the Arizona Cardinals had a player from Northern Arizona was defensive end Siupeli Anau in the 2017 preseason. Carson Taylor was good enough to get a training camp invite with the Chicago Bears after five years with the Lumberjacks.

The Glendale, Arizona native attended Apollo High School and racked up 146 tackles, and 14 total sacks in his career.

The 6’4″, 251-pound Taylor could probably put on a few pounds to solidify himself as a defensive end, but he might be able to find a role as a linebacker in Vance Joseph’s defense. Yes, there’s a ton of linebackers on the roster right now, but Taylor should be given a chance with the Cardinals on the practice squad.

Arizona has had a knack for having local players on the roster (Byron Murphy, D.J. Foster, Christian Kirk) in recent years- so why not add one on the defensive side?
