The Arizona Cardinals are heading into Week 1 of the 2022 NFL Season facing a formidable opponent in the Kansas City Chiefs. Here are three predictions.

There is perhaps no other team in the league for the Arizona Cardinals to gauge their talents against than the Kansas City Chiefs. But with a strong offense and yes, the capability to make life tough for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Cardinals can not only come away with the W; they can also look good doing so.

Below, you will find three ultra-bold predictions for the Cardinals in the upcoming contest. And while Kyler Murray and company can put up big numbers this weekend, don’t be surprised if the defense, even the defensive backfield, also steps up. Let’s see what we have in store this Sunday.

The Arizona Cardinals vs Kansas City Chiefs, Week 1: Bold Prediction #1 – Kyler Murray throws for 400 yards

In 2021, the Chiefs finished 27th in passing defense, allowing 251 passing yards per game. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray can get hot early in the season, and don’t be surprised if he uses his committee of pass catchers to make life tough for the Chiefs defense. Even without DeAndre Hopkins, and possibly with no Zach Ertz or Rondale Moore – both are listed as Questionable as of Monday.

Murray can also extend plays and opposing defenses know he can be dangerous outside the pocket, as there is always the possibility he can tuck the ball and run. Or, he can act as though he is about to cross the line of scrimmage and throw deep.

With so much turbulence remaining on the Chiefs defense coupled with Murray’s unpredictable nature, he can easily surpass the 400-yard mark in this outing. It is something you won’t see often, as he hit the number just once in 2021 (Week 2 vs Minnesota). But against a weak defense like Kansas City’s, he has a golden opportunity.
