While shoring up the defense is a priority, the Arizona Cardinals could also be on the lookout for some offensive line depth.

Over the past couple of weeks, any trade talk involving around the Arizona Cardinals centered heavily around the defense. That stands to reason, considering the fact that the Cards front office pretty much balked on adding pieces to coordinator Vance Joseph’s unit during the 2022 offseason.

With the NFL’s November 1st trade deadline approaching rapidly, Arizona could also be looking to improve in an entirely different area of the team. A particular segment of the roster that has suffered a couple of key injuries during the past few weeks.

Back on October 16th, left guard Justin Pugh tore his ACL during a 19-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The 32-year-old will be sidelined for the rest of the campaign, and there’s a very good possibility that Pugh has played his last game for the Cardinals.

Another concern for the Redbirds’ blocking unit is center Rodney Hudson, a veteran who’s been nursing a knee injury of his own for close to a month now. Could Cards general manager Steve Keim look to shore up the squad’s banged-up O-line before the deadline arrives on Tuesday?

Several offensive linemen could be on the radar of the Arizona Cardinals

Veteran left guard Dalton Risner is starting for a Denver Broncos club that appears to be going nowhere. The 27-year-old has 54 starts on his professional resume, and has played well in all seven of Denver’s contests this season.

Last week, center Billy Price filled in admirably for an ailing Hudson. Evan Brown could potentially be an upgrade for Arizona, however. The 6 foot 3, 320 pounder has appeared in 24 matchups (16 starts) for the Detroit Lions since he was acquired back in 2020.

Washington Commanders journeyman Trai Turner is a five-time Pro Bowler who’s been with three separate franchises over the past three seasons. The 29-year-old has played primarily on the right side as a pro, but there’s no reason to think that Turner couldn’t be a replacement for Pugh at the left guard position.

While acquiring talent on the defensive side of the ball should be the priority, it would not be surprising to see Keim orchestrate a deal for a blocker. Cardinals fans will know soon enough if the organization elects to be buyers instead of sellers in 2022.
