Kenneth Walker III has officially replaced Russell Wilson as the biggest thorn in the Arizona Cardinals side after two strong performances.

Remember the good old days where Russell Wilson threw all over the Arizona Cardinals, yet the Redbirds at least won a few of those outings? Clearly, that has not been the case with Kenneth Walker III, who looked like Walter Payton against the Cardinals defense in both games this season.

Walker was, as of Monday morning, trending on Twitter, given his dynamic performances all season. Which should at least come as good news to a demoralized defense: No, Walker has not only been embarrassing the Cardinals; he’s been running over pretty much everyone.

But still, with the playoffs on the line yesterday, or at least mathematically, the Cardinals needed to step up strong and stop one of the best players on the Seattle offense. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and Walker enjoyed his second 100-yard outing of the season.

Kenneth Walker III haunted the Arizona Cardinals in 2022

In the first four weeks of the season, Walker had a grand total of 23 carries and 136 yards. Promising numbers, but the Cardinals Week 6 meltdown against the Seahawks really kicked things off for the rookie running back, who saw 21 carries and rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown in Seattle’s 19-9 win.

He followed that up with a 167-yard outing against the Los Angeles Chargers before the New York Giants at least contained him somewhat. The Cardinals could have taken a page out of the Giants playbook, but instead, Walker rushed for 109 yards on 26 carries, and two touchdowns. He also had a career-high 20 receiving yards with 6.67 yards per reception, another career-high.

light. Related Story. Different year, same sorry Arizona Cardinals

Overall, Walker got the best of what has become a deteriorating Arizona Cardinals defense that has allowed 30-plus points over their previous three games. It resulted in a season sweep, and a third-straight loss to what many consider the team’s biggest division rival.
