The Arizona Cardinals 2022 season is looking more hopeless by the week, so will anything change in their latest divisional matchup?

I grew up around two different football teams – The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns. Tale of Two Franchises, right? Best of times, worst of times, (note my love of classic lit). Anyway, the Arizona Cardinals have become the 1999-2019 Cleveland Browns, and the Rams, the 1999-2019 Steelers, during the Kliff Kingsbury era.

Kliff’s Cardinals have beaten the Rams just once in 3.5 seasons, and Kliff owns a “remarkable” 1-7 record to Sean McVay’s group. Couple that with the way Kliff’s Cardinals have performed over the second half of each of the last three seasons, and things are looking rather bleak for the Cardinals.

So will Week 10, somehow, be any different? Let’s check out the odds and make a prediction, shall we?

Arizona Cardinals vs. Rams Odds – Week 10

Per Fan Duel, the Arizona Cardinals are +1.5 underdogs to the Rams. The over/under sits at 41.5, and the Cardinals moneyline is just +106. The Rams moneyline is -124.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Rams Prediction – Week 10

I actually had to do a double-take here regarding the odds, since +1.5 seemed to be rather generous, even against a Rams team that might be missing quarterback Matthew Stafford this week, per the latest Cardinals-Rams Injury Report.

The Cardinals have a plethora of injuries themselves, including Kyler Murray and Budda Baker. Among them, 11 players who regularly see the field. So I’m not really sure what oddsmakers are seeing here, since even without Stafford, or at the time, Jared Goff, the Rams still won in an 18-7 sleepfest in Week 17 of the 2020 season the last time we saw the Battle of the Backups.

Overall, if neither Stafford nor Murray can go, expect some miscues…maybe…but you know what? In the Battle of the Backups, I could actually see the Cardinals pulling this one out since Colt McCoy is a definite upgrade over Chris Streveler.

If the backups are indeed playing, the Cardinals take this one 15-14. But if Stafford and Murray are good to go, the Rams win this one by a score of 27-13.
