The Arizona Cardinals are 4-6, but are still very much alive in their quest to win an NFC West title, yet they are facing a must-win at Estadio Azteca.

When the Arizona Cardinals started Colt McCoy over Kyler Murray in last week’s win over the Los Angeles Rams, they were given a new hope. McCoy ran the offense methodically, and despite the unit still making mental errors, McCoy proved they could be an effective group that can overcome anything.

No, they weren’t spectacular, nor did the put up video game numbers. Instead, it was a simple approach, where they picked up just enough yardage per play to run smoothly. And in doing so, it kept the Cardinals playoff hopes alive for another week.

So can the machine remain running on medium-octane against a strong San Francisco 49ers defense? Let’s talk about it.

Arizona Cardinals vs. 49ers Odds – Week 11

Per Fan Duel, the Arizona Cardinals are currently +8.5 underdogs to the 49ers. The over/under is 43.5, and the Cardinals moneyline is +290. The 49ers moneyline is -360.

Arizona Cardinals vs. 49ers Prediction – Week 11

The Murray-backers will continually claim the Cardinals can’t win this contest without their so-called franchise quarterback. It’s as though they haven’t watched or did not consider Murray’s inadequacy over the season’s first nine weeks, and McCoy’s ability to lead the offense to 27 points, more than they scored in eight of Murray’s nine starts.

Case in point, if Murray ends up playing in this one, chalk this one in the L column and start following the latest mock draft. Hop off the Murray bandwagon, hope that the Cardinals make an enticing offer to Houston or Detroit, two franchises who would have no problem swallowing the guy’s contract, and use the first round picks you acquire to draft someone like C.J. Stroud.

If McCoy ends up starting, the Cardinals have a chance here. Not that McCoy will have a repeat performance since the Niners defense will be ready for him, but he’ll at least give the Redbirds a ray or two of hope. Overall, I’m saying the Niners have a better chance to take it by a score of 26-21, following a furious, McCoy-driven comeback from being down 26-7.
