The Arizona Cardinals may have won just one home game over the past 14 months, but the New England Patriots have had their own struggles.

The New England Patriots have not been good this season, losing all three of their primetime games. Historically under Bill Belichick, this hasn’t been the case, but opponents are also outscoring the Pats nearly 2:1 in prime time, sparking trouble for the 21st century’s most successful franchise. And the Arizona Cardinals could take advantage, even if their recent track record at home is horrific.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 1-2 in prime time, most recently coming off a debilitating 38-10 loss against the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City. And despite their 1-10 record at State Farm Stadium since October 28th, 2021, their most recent home win came on Thursday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints, a game in which they put up 42 points.

Arizona Cardinals can take full advantage of Pats struggles

Not only are the Patriots struggling in prime time this season, they are also having a hard time getting anything going offensively. Under Mac Jones, the Pats are averaging just 17.5 points per game, meaning Kyler Murray and Company should have plenty of chances to drive downfield and score often against the NFL’s second-ranked defense.

If Murray and the offense succeeds, it will serve as a major boost for them, given his and the unit’s struggles this season. But at 4-8, the Cardinals remain on the edge of the playoff race. And a win tonight will give Murray and the Redbirds potential new life, especially as a few teams they are competing against, like the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants, lost this past week.

But before we start to actually talk playoffs again, Murray and the Cardinals must take advantage of the Patriots most recent mishaps. If they can do that, the Redbirds will be sitting at 5-8 with four winnable games remaining on the schedule. Virtually anything is possible at the present moment.
