4 NFL legends who finished their career with the Arizona Cardinals

Alan Faneca – Guard
When Ken Whisenhunt was hired to be Arizona’s head coach in ’07, the offensive guru recruited several former Pittsburgh Steelers to the desert. One of the players who accepted the invitation was Alan Faneca, a former starting guard for the “Black and Gold” who inked a one-year contract with the Cardinals in April of 2010.
Faneca had spent the ’08 and ’09 campaigns with the New York Jets before signing a contract worth $2.5 million with the Cards. The nine-time Pro Bowler would be reuniting with Russ Grimm, his former offensive line coach from his days with the Steelers.
The 34-year-old Faneca retired in April of 2011, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in February of 2021. Citing health concerns, the New Orleans native has lost over 100 pounds since he decided to call it a career.
