The Arizona Cardinals may be 4-12, but at least they have a few reasons for fans to tune in for the season finale against San Francisco.

Things are looking so bleak for the Arizona Cardinals heading into Week 18 that nine of the original 11 (projected) starters they had on offense are slated to miss the season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. But there is hope going into the last game of the season, and below, you will find three bright spots for the Redbirds heading into the season’s final week.

1 – The Arizona Cardinals Defense

The Arizona Cardinals defense has enjoyed a couple of good outings recently, having allowed just 39 points over the last two games, and 63 since Week 15. Look for another solid outing against even an elite team like the 49ers this weekend as the the Cardinals seek to end the season on a high note.

2 – Trey McBride

McBride has been one of the offense’s better players lately, snagging 17 receptions for 178 yards and a touchdown over the previous four games. These aren’t rockstar numbers by any means, but McBride is showing the NFL universe why he was the Arizona Cardinals top pick just under nine months ago.

3 – J.J. Watt

And finally, all eyes will be on J.J. Watt. With 10.5 sacks this season, the future Hall of Famer has more sacks in 2022 than he had in his previous three seasons combined. Overall, he could play at least another season or two, but with a new family, it’s easy to see why he is opting for retirement.

Once this otherwise forgettable season ends, it will be on to a much-needed offseason. We will definitely be keeping tabs on Black Monday to see if head coach Kliff Kingsbury makes it through to another season (presumably) if Michael Bidwill decides not to make the change following the game.

And we will most definitely be talking about the upcoming NFL Draft in April. The Holidays may be over, but the Holidays for the NFL’s non-playoff teams are just beginning. And that makes it a pretty sweet time of the year.
