2022 Statistics: 39 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, 25 quarterback hits, 1 forced fumble

How many NFL players enjoyed a stronger farewell tour? Very few. Even guys like Peyton Manning, who won the Super Bowl in his final season, needed a lot of help getting there. Watt had a vintage season and enjoyed his best numbers since 2018.

He turned the Cardinals dormant pass rush into something, and he gave fans a reason to tune in until the very end of what was a tumultuous season. It was an honor to watch J.J. Watt play over the past two years, and even more of an honor for the future Hall of Famer to end his career in the desert.

Overall, it was a trying year for the Arizona Cardinals, and unfortunately, Watt won’t be back for an encore performance. However, guys like Wilson, Simmons, Collins, and others will continue to grow and become staples for the incoming regime. And they will be a fun group to watch.
