Per SI’s Albert Breer, new Arizona Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort met with DeAndre Hopkins on Friday, February 3rd.

We know star receiver DeAndre Hopkins may be on the trading block as the Arizona Cardinals seek to usher in a new era. Since Hopkins has a no-trade clause, he can also, to an extent, choose where he’d like to end up.

Two new teams that have emerged  in recent weeks as potential landing spots recently are the Los Angeles Chargers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. And they are two organizations that few are talking about when it comes to trading for the 10-year veteran.

Of course, it would be easy to see why Jacksonville and Los Angeles would be hot on Hopkins’ radar. From the remarkable weather to two of the NFL’s better up-and-coming quarterbacks and much more stability for each respective franchise, Hopkins could have a field day whether he lands in the East Coast or the West Coast.

Arizona Cardinals could trade Hopkins to Jacksonville, Los Angeles

With such a remarkable playoff run this season, the Jacksonville Jaguars could be the hottest team on Hopkins’ radar. A trade to Jacksonville would likely warrant a first-round pick, and it will give Hopkins a chance to reunite with former Arizona Cardinals teammate, Christian Kirk. He will also play alongside a young talent in Trevor Lawrence, who appears to be about to enter his prime.

In Los Angeles, Hopkins would pair up with the strong-armed Justin Herbert. And while Herbert hasn’t had the same type of postseason success as Lawrence, this shouldn’t deter Hopkins too much if he decides to remain out west.

This past season, the Chargers made the postseason, but squandered a 27-point lead to none other than Jacksonville. Hopkins could be the missing piece for an organization starving to reach its first Super Bowl since 1994, and therefore, you can also expect the Chargers to give up some sound draft capital.

There are plenty of other teams out there who could draw Hopkins’ interest. But as it stands, don’t be surprised if the Chargers or Jaguars end up winning the DeAndre Hopkins Sweepstakes.
