The Arizona Cardinals have a lot of roster holes to fill in 2023, and the offensive line is one huge position group of need. Here is how they will fix it.

As it stands, we aren’t sure how many holes there will be on the Arizona Cardinals offensive line. But so far, only D.J. Humphries and Josh Jones would be viable returning starters. The likes of Billy Price, Cody Ford, Rodney Hudson, Kelvin Beachum, Justin Pugh, Max Garcia, Will Hernandez, and Sean Harlow are all slated for free agency, and a couple of players on that list may hang it up for good.

Therefore, the Cardinals have their work cut out for them in free agency. Not only are they lacking at the offensive line, but they are also thin at other positions. They may select to fill some offensive line issues in the 2023 NFL Draft, but one draft won’t remedy the entire position group.

So expect the Cardinals to turn to free agency to at least build a solid foundation on the line. Here is how they can fix the issue in March, before supplementing it in April.

Arizona Cardinals must find value on the offensive line

Although the Cardinals have some cap space, don’t expect them to invest heavy assets into their line. Instead, look for them to make bang-for-buck signings as they attempt to revamp the roster.

The Cards could go with a mixture of youth and experience, perhaps adding someone experienced like tackle Mike McGlinchey. They could also go with a young player to compete for a spot in the interior like guard Connor McGovern.

Look for the Cardinals to do a lot of the same that they did last season to fill the unit with pieces that can provide depth. And it also shouldn’t surprise if they ended up bringing back players like Ford, Price, or Hernandez for at least another season to fill that depth.

Overall, expect one big signing, most likely a veteran tackle like McGlinchey if they decide not to re-sign Beachum. They will also go the youthful route with someone like McGovern. And finally, expect them to sign, or re-sign, a few role players.
