The NFL offseason is the time to dream big. That’s exactly what we’re doing.

I’ll lay it out from the start: the Arizona Cardinals should consider a trade for Tyreek Hill. Take a moment to digest, and let me explain.

The Arizona Cardinals should call the Miami Dolphins about Tyreek Hill

Let’s start with the negatives of a potential Tyreek Hill trade, because there are plenty.

First, Hill is expensive. He carries a $27 million cap hit in 2025, which would be tough for Arizona to stomach. Considering the contract and the cost it would take to trade for Hill, the Cardinals may not even entertain the idea.

Hill also isn’t known to be a great locker room presence. The Cardinals have cultivated a young core with loads of potential, and they may be wary of adding a negative voice to that group.

Finally, we’ve probably already seen the best of Tyreek Hill. At 31 years old, he’s likely going to be less productive going forward than he has been in years past.

Now that the negatives are out of the way, can we have some fun with this idea?

Tyreek Hill, despite his age, is still one of the most explosive players in football. He has the ability to threaten defenses over the top and open up space underneath for other pass catchers. That just happens to be exactly what Arizona’s offense is missing.

Last season, Marvin Harrison Jr. struggled to find space on many of his routes. He was forced into contested catch situations, where he’s not at his best. Inserting a speedster like Tyreek Hill into the offense could open up acres of space for Harrison Jr. to work with. This could allow him to become the elite receiver the Cardinals drafted him to be.

The Cardinals were an incredibly efficient offense in 2024 with limited receiving options. Adding Tyreek Hill would solidify them as a top-ten offense while bringing the potential for an explosive play at any moment.

So, hypothetically, what would it actually cost to bring Tyreek Hill to Arizona? A year ago, the asking price would have been astronomical. But, after a down year in terms of production, Hill might be available for more reasonable compensation. Considering his age and massive contract, the Dolphins may take a 2026 third-round draft pick for him. At that price, it’s at least worth looking into for the Arizona Cardinals.
