Somebody find out what Marvin Harrison Jr.'s offseason weight room routine looks like.
The Arizona Cardinals offseason workout program started this week, and teammates have taken notice of the receiver's transformation since the end of the 2024 season.
According to fellow Cardinals wideout Michael Wilson, Harrison has put on some muscle over the offseason. When addressing the media this week, Wilson said, "Marvin looked like he got a little bigger."
Marvin Harrison Jr. ready for breakout year after bulking up during offseason
Marvin Harrison Jr.'s rookie season was a mixed bag. He put up 885 yards and eight touchdowns on 62 catches.
Those numbers are more than fine for a rookie wide receiver. However, Harrison Jr.'s start has been framed against the dominant rookie campaigns of Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. Both players eclipsed 1,000 yards despite being drafted after MHJ.
Context is important here. Marvin Harrison Jr. had to compete with Trey McBride for targets. McBride was one of the most productive tight ends in the league last season. Nabers and Thomas both had a significantly higher target share than Harrison did.
There were some frustrations with Harrison's usage in Arizona's offense, as Kyler Murray seemed to look McBride's way more often than not. Still, fans can be optimistic about Harrison's outlook moving forward.
Apparently, Marvin Harrison Jr. is wasting no time in preparing for a breakout sophomore season.
Marvin Harrison Jr.'s teammates expect a big second year from him. Cardinals offensive tackle and Harrison's former Ohio State teammate Paris Johnson Jr. told the media, "I still think he's the best receiver in the league."
Marvin Harrison Jr., with his teammates behind him, is ready to take a leap in his second season. If he and Kyler Murray can build a consistent connection, the sky is the limit for Harrison. After this season, he'll reclaim the crown as the top receiver from the 2024 draft class.
