Many Arizona Cardinals fans, for good reason, believe the team has improved this offseason, maybe enough to win the NFC West.
Most sportsbooks have a decidedly different opinion of the Cardinals. A disclaimer: We present these odds not to encourage anyone to place a bet. Reading the odds gives fans insight into what bookmakers think of their team.
On ESPN Bet, the Cardinals have the longest odds to win their division at plus-550. The 49ers are the favorites at plus-150, ahead of the Rams at plus-160 and Seahawks at plus-500.
On DraftKings, the Cardinals are tied for the longest division odds with the Seahawks at plus-475. The 49ers are the favorites at +150, with the Rams at +195.
Yet, on Pro Football Focus, the NFC West’s best bet is for the 49ers to miss the playoffs at +140. PFF’s odds compiler has the Niners the favorite to win the West at -172, followed by the Rams at -170, the Cardinals at +136 and the Seahawks at +186
PFF wrote: “The 49ers went 6-11 and lost a ton of talent this offseason, so it’s a bit surprising to see them at the top of the playoff odds board in the NFC West.”
DraftKings has interesting odds on the number of Cardinals wins. If you’re so inclined, DraftKings gives you plenty of options.
Over 4.5 wins: -1600
Over 6.5: -390
Over 8.5: +100
Over 10.5: +275
Over 12.5: +800
Under 4.5: +850
Under 6.5: +300
Under 8.5: -120
Under 10.5: -350
Under 12.5: -1400
For over-under bets, the Cardinals’ line is 8.5 (from ESPN Bet). Fans can bet on either side of the total. If you think the Cardinals will win at least nine games, bet the “over.” If you think the Cardinals will win eight or fewer games, bet the “under.”
Last season, the Cardinals’ 8-9 record paid the “over” bettors, as the line was 6.5 wins. In coach Jonathan Gannon’s first season in 2023, the over-under was 4.5. The Cardinals finished 4-13, so the “under” won the bet.
