2.) New England Patriots

Much like the Commanders, the Patriots are going into a rebuild with their team under new head coach Jerod Mayo who is very well-respected within the Patriots' organization. New England will be one of the few teams that NFL fans will keep a close eye on because it is the first year removed from the Bill Belichick era. Going into free agency, the Patriots have the 3rd most cap at $78 million, per overthecap.com and are going to be more than likely seeking out a quarterback in the draft and move off of Mac Jones.

The Patriots were right behind Washington in sacks, with 39 (8.5 fro, defensive lineman Christian Barmore). Within the AFC East, being able to acquire a player from a rival weakens the rival, usually. Who knows how the Patriots will utilize their cap space, but they have more money than the Cardinals and can easily outbid Arizona from getting an edge rusher from one of the top defensive units in the past two seasons.

With Mayo as the new head coach, pending free agents may be interested in seeing how the Patriots will be operated under a new coaching staff. Huff, who is looking to cash in from his career year in 2023, could easily seek more money from one of the richest teams going into free agency.
