3 - Will the Cardinals stop the run this time around?
The last time the Arizona Cardinals played the Rams, they gave up 179 rushing yards, and 158 of those yards went to Kyren Williams on just 20 carries. Do the math, and Williams averaged 7.9 yards per attempt in that game, and he will be returning this week to face the Cards.
However, like Kupp, expect Williams to be on a “pitch count”. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be effective against a defense that is now missing one of their surest tacklers in Kyzir White. Williams will get his carries, but the Cards must also account for other backs the Rams will throw at them.
One of those names is Royce Freeman, who has enjoyed some success in the seven games he’s played in Los Angeles. Freeman has 215 yards on 50 attempts, good for 4.3 yards per. Therefore, the Cardinals will have their hands full against what is more than just a solid backfield.
