3 - Clark Phillips III, CB

When you’re only 5’9, some scouts and general managers are already taking you off their draft boards. And right now, the Arizona Cardinals need a big, physical corner to hang with the game’s top receivers. Clark Phillips doesn’t fit that void in the slightest.

Overall, his Combine numbers screamed average, including a meager 4.51 in the 40, something that Phillips could have used to sneak his way onto and up draft boards. He was also spotty during drills, but he did show some incredible ballhawking tendencies at the University of Utah.

In 31 career games, he had 9 interceptions, 232 return yards, 4 pick sixes, and 21 deflected passes. So while the Cards should avoid him on Day 1 and even on Day 2, he could be worth taking a flier on if he’s still there when they pick on Day 3. But even then, is he much more than a nickel at the NFL level?
