Round 1, Pick 27: Darius Robinson, Missouri DL
After focusing on the offense with their first pick, the Cardinals shifted their focus to the defensive side of the ball by drafting versatile defensive lineman Darius Robinson. Robinson was a physically dominant prospect capable of playing multiple positions along the defensive front.
Truth be told, it's too early to judge the selection of Darius Robinson. Due to an injury and family matters, Robinson appeared in just six games in 2024. He didn't make a major impact, but that can be expected from a rookie with such limited experience.
Moving forward, Robinson is expected to start along the interior of Arizona's defensive line. He will have the opportunity to prove himself worthy of a first-round selection in 2024.
Grade: C+
Round 2, Pick 43: Max Melton, Rutgers CB
The Cardinals continued their defensive retooling by selecting Rutgers cornerback Max Melton in the second round.
Melton played nearly 600 snaps for the Cardinals in his rookie season and made a considerable impact. He posted 41 tackles, two pass deflections, and one forced fumble.
Melton has a chance to become a full-time starter for Arizona moving forward. He is already an important part of the Cardinals secondary, which is exactly what teams often look for in the second round.
